Frequently Asked Questions

How big is the maze?

The maze is cut into a 15 acre field of corn.

How long does it take to get through the maze?

It all depends on how many wrong turns you take.   The average person will finish the maze within 1- 1.5 hours.   Some people have taken a lot longer and a few a bit quicker.   For those who are afraid about the time it would take to finish the maze, we do have people in the maze (corn cops) who can help you find an exit.

Will I get lost?

While everyone  does get a little bit lost, we have designed the maze to be an interactive activity that makes a trip to the maze more then just a walk through some corn.  At the beginning of your visit, you have the option of taking a “passport”.   There are ten questions on the passport that will help you make your way through the maze.

How do you make the maze?

Very carefully.   The exact process of making the maze is a trade secret but we can tell you that we plant the whole field in the spring and then cut out the design when the corn plants are 6 inches tall.

How will I know I’m going the right way?

We have 10 numbered posts located inside the maze that will help to keep you on the right path.  The passport you choose before you begin will help you to locate these posts and make your way through the maze.

What age of people is the maze most appropriate for?

One of the great things about the maze is that it is something that people of all ages can enjoy.   As long as you are able to walk for an hour or so, you can enjoy the maze.

Is the maze wheel-chair accessible?

We are semi-accessible.  The paths are hard packed dirt trails and easily fit a wheelchair.   If there has been rain recently the paths get quite muddy and can be quite a push.  Please call ahead if you have any specific questions regarding accessibility on the day of your visit.

Are we allowed to picnic at the maze?

Absolutely! We welcome you to pack a meal and have dinner or a snack in our courtyard area.  We also have a concession stand that sells cold drinks, ice cream, and packaged snacks.  Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can I bring a pet?

As long as you cleanup after your pet they are more then welcome.  We do require that they are kept on a leash at all times.

Can I eat the Corn?

You could, but it would not taste very good.  The variety of corn that we grow is a cow grazing variety.   Most of the energy goes into growing the plant tall and the cobs are really bitter and mealy.
